THINGS I LOVE TO DO IN MY LIFE

              15.  I like to leave music and sing.

AN ACCIDENT I HAD SEEN

 

        One day some strangers came to the our village. They wore expensive clothes. Three of them were walking the road. One was little child. The other two were smart, young men. One man was his right. The other was behind him. There were other men. They were a few yards away from these three. One man was standing behind a small machine. The other was holding an umbrella over it.

            Suddenly a large car came along the road. It was moving very fast. There was a young man in it. The car hit the small child and he fell down. The man on his right jumped aside. The man behind his screamed and ran to him. The car stopped a few yards away and the young man in the car, too, rushed to him. The child was in a pool of blood. The men carried her to the car. They put him in it and drove away.

        The villagers were looking on. They were silent. The man, holding the umbrella said, "How is that, sir? " the man, behind the machine was happy. He turned to the man with the umbrella and said, “oh! That's fine. Thank you.”

          What was he doing? Oh… he was making a film. The others were acting

MY TOWN LIBRARY

 

My town library is one best in the country. It is housed in a huge building in one acre of land. There is a garden in front of it and it has enough parking space for cars and cycles.

There is a reading room where we can read most of the local and foreign newspapers and magazines. There is a reference section with more than 80,000 volumes of books for the researchers. There is a lending section where the members can borrow three books per week. I find English, Sinhala books on various subjects. I have a section where there are dictionaries books of knowledge and encyclopedia. In the children's section very colourful books for the kids. They have story telling session at week-ends. At week-ends they show documentary films in the audio visual room.

Now we also have as many as 20 computers and inter-net facilities so that the members can browse whatever they are interested in. Our town library stands smart as a store house of knowledge. 😍

THE FILM I ENJOYED

 

The film I recently enjoyed watching is "Rush Hour" starring Jackie Chan and Christ-Tuker. The story is very simple. The Hero, a Police Officer from Hong Kong, is assigned the duty of rescuing the little daughter of his country's ambassador for US from a gang that has kidnaped her for a big ransom.

Jackie Chan plays the Police officer, from Hong Kong , and Christ Tuker plays an FBI officer. These two guys fight the gang of criminals and rescue the little girl. The photography is good as, usual and the music and special effects lend very much to the fighting sequences. More than anything the usual pranks of Jackie and Tucker add spice to the film.

 Jackie Chan's stunts are really amazing… (Not many graphic skill have been employed for the story didn't demand). Chasing, slipping down poles, racing and leaping are very wonderfully filmed and they are certainly thrilling and exciting.

The director of the film deserves praise because he has spun the interesting and humourous events around a simple plot of kidnaping and rescuing. This again is a very successful entertainment starring Jackie Chan. To have had Tucker co starring Jackie Chan is a wonderful idea. The duo provide the best to their fans.

DURING GOING TO HOME

            During my first year, at the University. I spent countless hours on public transport travelling to and from the campus. On the way home one evening I sat near the doors of the train compartment.

            During my journey, F looked up from my book brow around the seats. I was alone, but for a tall, fat, bearded man in green cap and a block T- shirt. He had tattoos all over his massive arm. He had a rigid face of a smile and he had very strong fearful muscles.

            I felt a little uneasy worrying about what type of a man he could be and hoped, the train would stop at my station soon. At the next stop the train stopped and I got off and briskly walked along the platform. I was relieved then about the tall, stern looking man and casually looked behind. I saw him walking fast in my direction. I quickened my steps but my legs refused to carry me fast. My heart beat increased and I felt I was panting for breath.

                Before I could look back again I felt a strong hand on my shoulder. He had stopped me. He looked at me with his thick lips moving into a light smile. "Buddy" ! Holding out a mobile "Excuse me" he said "You left this on your seat". I decided never again to judge someone on what he looks like. 😞

I was the cradle of your childhood.  Also, when you leave this world, you will walk in me.  Who is the handle of the plow that supports your hand when you work in the field?  Also the cows, buffaloes, horses and elephants that you raise come to my palace and eat the grass.😌  

So, I know man is a constantly changing animal. I tell you I am your teenage friend. So don't destroy me.🙏

WISE MOUSE

The time had come to fry Rakhi in India. One day there was a conversation about this among the animals.  So a cat there thought, "This is a good opportunity."  😺

Then a mouse looked away.  Then the cat spoke to the mouse.  "Come here, don't be afraid. I have something to tell you."  Said the cat to the rat.  

"What is that?" Asked the rat.  😦

"Now is the time to fry Rakhi.  Make me your brother.  You look like my brother, so I tied a Rakhi in your hand" and the cat suggested that "I be your brother."  😃

The rat thought carefully what this cat said.  

"What are you thinking? Come to me. I'll have a tip" the cat said to the rat.  

The rat thought and said to the cat, "We'll be brothers. That's a good thing. But I have a lot of work to do. I'm in a hurry to go home."

The rat told that to cat and rat went.... 😅😅
